Good reason to have a mirror on a stick. The telescoping models are compact and easily stored in a tank bag or side case. Always remember to do a full light check at the beginning of the day too. You just never know when a bulb goes out due to vibration or age. It only takes a minute to be safe.

If you're burning that much oil from one day to the next, then you've got bigger problems than simply needing to top up evry now and then

Overkill?....... It takes about 2 seconds to pull the bike upright, then get on it.
Burning that much oil? ......... It could also be that the drain plug isn't quite snugged up, & losing oil drip by drip.
Checked every couple of weeks?....... Phew! you can lose a lot of oil (unnoticed) in two weeks. Even on my car it's part of the weekly checks. (and that's got an oil monitor on start-up)

For the sake of 2 seconds a day, I'd sooner be safe than sorry.

Tires, Controls, Lights, Oil, Chassis, Stand.
