San Jacinto Mountains in mid-December...

So... it was like 80 here today so I decided to take the Strat to my "gig" at the Mile High Cafe in Idyllwild. The Mile High is so named cause it's about exactly a mile above sea level nestled in the San Jacinto Mountains in between Hemet and Palm Springs. It was down to the high forties by the time I got up there and low forties when I left. Went out with the mesh jacket, returned with a couple of extra layers plus my rain jacket. No good photos - here's two crappy ones... about 170 miles r/t.

Good to hear some one is still out on 2 wheels. But you should pack a little more warm clothing when you venture out.

Phy - if you get out, please stop by the Mile High on 243 in Idyllwild. (I'm trying to establish them as a "respectable" biker hangout!) Tell them Alan "the piano player" recommended 'em.

Bring some layers - it's 20 degrees colder up there - gets down to 40 (or less!) at night. I was out there two weeks ago and there was snow and ice in the parking lot - but it was a lot colder in anaheim that day too.

Have fun.

Phy,

Next time do Ramona Expressway to Mountain to Florida (74). 74 through Hemet kind of sucks. Other than that great ride!

Sunshine and clear skies, we don't get much of that here during winter. At least we are back to our normal slightly above freezing temps.
