Hwy. 58 Road Views, >> Golden California

Hi, everyone.
I made some short local weekend ride and took road views.
Experiencing variety of different road types.....from small canyon road to long miles of desert roads.
I found the origin of word "Golden California" >> not for metal gold but for Gold Colour... ha ha ha (just joking...)
Anyway, Hwy. 58 is about 80 miles country road and traffic is very low;
as commercial traffic usually are using Hwy. 166 to cross-over West Coast to Centeral California
>> it's new highway but not very seneric roads
However, it (hwy.166) is also good for motorcycle casual speedy riding.

Anyway, it was hot (over 110)...
If you plan to ride at the summer time try to bring cold water, and there is no gas station during the 80 miles riding.....

I try to cover all the 80 miles of video, but failed.
There are over hours long clips..(West Part A to East Part G clips)
I personally like these portion of the roads; east part of the Hwy. 58 and sharing with you.

Beautiful ride. That camera's so smooth, it looks like you're hovering above the road. Good to have you back, Busy. Very nice work. Keep them coming!

Try taping a cotton ball or piece of gauze over the microphone on your camera...it will filter out all the wind noise. Works like a charm on mine even in direct high-speed wind riding on the tank.

Wow, had the road all to yourself for a long time. Looks really hot and dry but a pleasant place to ride otherwise. Especially liked the part where you opened her up a bunch. The bike seemed to ride well at speed. The camera mount is working very well for you.

I think I've been on the stretch of that from Kramer Junction to the 15 after a re-route of some sort. Had to have been nice and toasty out there this weekend.

The speed up part wasn't actual high speed >> I edited for double up scenes.
As those sections are long boring desert load; guess over 2-5 miles long.
However, I made some speed test at there >> so it added up as real fast riding effects. ha ha ha

And Mr. Alan.
It was a hot riding.... ha ha ha
But has some advantage >>> not many will come and ride at there....


Let me make some more bike-camera taking tips(? my experiences) here...

1. First of all, my camera's Shake-Reduce (stabilizer) function did a big contribution of it.
Thankly, my new camera has one.. ****
2. Try to record at lower frame rates and re-encode at higher rates.
For example, if your camera/camcorder has 15 fps rate option, use it >> this will reduce vibration/shake noticebly.
And then, before uploading to the public or for sharing, re-encode at higher rate; 30 fps(frame per seconds)
3. Do not accelate suddenly.... ha ha ha >> this is some pain when enjoying riding...
4. Try to keep smooth speed up/down...
5. Avoid to change direction suddenly, keep straight line of riding..
6. more .. but can't recall right now..

Additionaly, if you want to buy a new camera, check especially for Focusing Speed of Camera.
This will help some clear recording at the higher speed.
Mine is still camera >> checked the focusing speed >> not that good....but resonable speed.

Anyway, there are still some fix needed for my mounter.
1. Can't reduce vibration for the road has similar patterns of bump for the period time.
2. Can't accelerate fast enough without having vibration.
3. Can't have some crisp/clear views at the lower light (and higher speed) situation >> focusing time is late
4. Can't reduce big-bump movements at all ha ha ha
5. etc..etc..

Some day Busy, I shall take you under my wing and show you how to snap a picture of an IHOP sign whilst eating a bowl of Corn Flakes. Impossible you say? Not if you put your mind to it. Oh, and it helps if you have an iphone, too.

If you show promise, we'll work our way up to watermelon shots. Probably too late for you, but I hear it's good to have dreams.
