Scraped my footrest...

Note of caution to future "upgraders"... If you upgrade to a big cruiser, be aware that the GZ is designed to handle a much greater radius of lean than, say, a Stratoliner. In my second hundred miles, I managed to catch the footrest on the asphalt on a slow speed turn into a side street. Kind of got my attention, as I had never scraped the pegs on the GZ in 3000 miles, but, it didn't really affect me as much as I thought such a thing would. As with the pegs, the footrests fold up a bit, there was a little noise, but, all in all, twarn't no big thang. That being said, I'm gonna be a little less aggressive on lean - next time I might not be so lucky.

Re: Scraped my footrest...

Did you read "More Proficient Motorcycling"? If you lean your body over to the inside of the turn, you can keep the bike more upright, it's all about adjusting center of gravity, etc.. If it's a slow turn, turning the handlebars rather than countersteering gets you around, like on a bike. Go slower, keep the bike more upright and you won't hit the pegs. It wouldn't be too funny if that thing fell over on you.

Well, I downloaded it. So that's good right? I forgot I downloaded it. I'll get back on it.
