Big Tujunga Creek Rd. GPS Track (Part of Angeles Foreset)
Hello...
Today, I finally got a GPS unit that I had in mind for a couple of weeks. It's from Garmin handheld, water-proof, and bright color screen. IMPORTANT >> this unit can log GPS Track as much as possible with micro SD card. Model is eTrex Legend HCx, fortunately, got some discount from Best Buy today. And bought a 2G micro SD card and uploaded whole US detailed map in to it tonight. Unit has base map only but map dvd is included with purchase. As soon as I paid unit at the store, opened and started Trip Log. I'm very satisfied with this unit's functions and handy size/weight, I put on my jacket all day long today. GPS does not miss a track...  [picasa=busyweb:sjzctqhd]5256494298819052993[/picasa:sjzctqhd] [picasa=busyweb:sjzctqhd]5257591359782095937[/picasa:sjzctqhd] === Photo Geo Tag Sync. with GPS Log Data and Mapping === Here is the process how to mapping the photo with geo exif tag. 1. Sync. Camera time with GPS time. 2. Start GPS Data Log 3. Take photos while moving orelse anywhere.....anytime...... 4. After trip log finished or stopped. 5. Download into computer 6. Run Photo Geo Sync. program with GPS Data logged 7. Sync. program will find photo taken time with GPS data time, and will add Geo (long/lat) tag on each photo. 8. Create Google Earth file (kml), and open Google Earth. 9. View Photos on the Google Earth Map or Google Map >> it shows exact place where I took the photos, amaizing. 10. Create Trip Tour Movie, for movie GE Pro version was required. 11. Skip creating movie Google Earth Pro cost 400 dollars 12. Use Microsoft Media Encoder to create movie file >> FREE   (i'll post movie at You Tube if i have a chance to share) 13. DONE.... today, i couldn't create panorama pictures....may be tomorrow or monday I'll post some photos. ========================================= Some images about this procedures...

Busy,
I know that these technologies have built incrementally on things that have been developed gradually over time, but for someone that grew up with foldable maps, 110 film and asking directions, this kind of convergence is pretty impressive. Your rides are also an excellent argument for why we all live out here. I'm not sure I followed all of your post - but I think what you are saying is it's possible for you to direct us to a satellite shot of your route and we can will be able to see pictures and or videos you took along the way. Yes?

Here is the my Picas Web Album link in which I uploaded Photos including Geo information just minutes ago. Google map (Google Earth, Picas Web Album) automatically place my photos where I took, simple. So, I don't have to manually geo tag or search places where I took photos any more. http://picasaweb.google.com/busyweb/BigTujungaCreekRd# If digital photos do not have Long/Lat information, need to manually find and place photo mapping information >> it was pain for me >> NOW photos are automatically placed when I upload to Picas.   I added a screen shot of my web album that you can find couple of links where you can see satellite images of where photos were taken.

Very neat. I've got to get out that way myself eventually.
