battery jumper cable

My 250 has a small plug hanging from the battery that I guess all 250's do, is this a connection for a set of jumper cables, and if so where can I find a set?

Is it two "pronged", ie: joined female and male connection? If so, that is for a battery tender.

Like previously mentioned, that is a connection for a battery charger, not heavy enough to jump start a dead battery - you will fry the wires as they are not meant to handle that kind of amperage.
And no, all GZ250's do not have that plug, it was put on by the previous owner as a charger connection or as a source of low draw current as for a GPS or cell phone adapter, not for anything much heavier draw than that.
You can make a set of inexpensive booster cables by going to a store like Radio Shack or similar, getting some small battery clamps and some 8 or 10 gauge wire and crimping on and taping up the clamps. Just label the ends so you don't cross + and - when you make the battery connections when you jumpstart the bike. It can be 10' long and coil up small enough to fit into the small storage compartment under the set. I made a set and the cost was maybe $10 or less and much cheaper than buying one and much more compact. These are heavy enough gauge to handle the draw of the starter motor.
