I'm not sure if your ashing for an opinion but here is my two cents worth.

I don't like gloves without some kind of gauntlet.

Think yellow jacket up your sleeve at 50 mph.

That is a great point actually. The gauntlet also supports your wrist in case of a fall or worse. Some perfed gloves also have extra knuckle support/armor and thick leather padding on the palms.

It all depends on the type of jacket you have. I have a leather jacket and yes I get a lot of air up the sleeves but they are loose fitting to start with. I also have a mesh jacket with tighter sleeves. They have a zipper and a snap strap so no bugs can get up the sleeves.

I have five pair of gloves. I wear the ones that give me the most protection for the weather conditions I'm riding in. If you only ride in fair weather then you only need one pair. I carry extras everywhere I go.

i took these gloves especially for this weather , very hot this summer, over 35degC (~95F) from 09H to 22H.
I will not take long rides (~25-30km per day), in the city, very crowded city.
Maybe for long rides i will buy some leather gloves.

When its hot I wear an armored mesh glove. When its cold I wear water proof insulated gloves. In between I wear kangaroo leather gloves.
