Mohawk Park and North Tulsa
Rode for about two hours today through Mohawk Park in North Tulsa. After the flooding from that area, I wanted to see what kind of damage was evident. Fortunately, not a lot. There was plenty of standing water though, and a lot more gravel under the tires than what I'm used to.
All in all, the trip was about 80 miles total. It was a beautiful day to ride, too: mid 70s and a slight breeze, the humidity was a tad high for my tastes, but this is Oklahoma. Click the pictures for the Flickr stream and larger images.

Good looking ride, good looking bike and it's good to see you in full gear.
I love pictures, Jonathan |

Thanks for the comments.
I'm going to take a cue from you and post pics of all the gear I wear. I thought for a little bit that all of it would be too hot when it is in the 90s, but I think it actually keeps me cooler because the sun isn't burning down on bare skin.

I was going to try to ride yesterday, but my bike was still in the shop. I've been wanting to go through that area since Mingo connects Owasso, where my folks live, and Tulsa. Last I checked, Mingo was still a lake because of all the rain. Don't know when that'll ever dry up. I haven't got the courage to go on 169, and don't think I ever will. Cool pics though.

Yeah, unless there's absolutely no traffic (yeah right) and no wind (ditto) on 169, I'm not even going to bother. Mingo connects from 76th all the way down to 11th, so the commute between there isn't bad. The flooding has subsided completely from the roads, but there's still plenty of standing water and that swampy smell. The park isn't a bad ride at all either, lots of long, smooth turns and really open sightlines.
