Shake in the front Tire...

Just had my 600 Mile service to the tune of $295... Bummed at that as that took all of my gas savings, but in any event, there is a shake in my front end at 40-55 MPH. It happens regardless of surface, and the dealer says the Bike 's front tire is in Balance... Any Idea what it might be? The dealer didn't have a clue!

Not surprised that they don't have a clue; they sure don't mind taking your money though.

Most likely that the tire (or rim) is out of round or not "true" (two different things).

Unless there is another Zuki dealer in the area, about all you can do is take it in, leave it and tell the service MANAGER or OWNER that you don't want it back until it is fixed.............and if it takes more than 3 days, you expect a loaner.

And check your owner's manual to be sure you have a number for Suzuki warranty disputes. Even if you already have it, you might ask the service department if they could find that number for you. That should give them a clue that you are serious.

PS More than one rider has observed a "bounce" or "hopping" condition from time to time at medium speeds in top gear......me being one of them. Others have found their tire pressure is off. I found that changing the rear spring pre-load eliminated it for me.........about 95% of the time. Every so often I still hit a section of road with the joints JUST right and the speed just perfect and it will still bounce a bit.

Did you have the shake/bounce before you took the bike in?

If not, the fact that shop "didn't have a clue" probably isn't far from the truth.

Well, I had it looked at... they say it is acting normal.... Actually after 1400 miles now, it is smootng out a bit...
