Loud pipes question...
Ok. Want advice.
New bike. Straight pipes.. Loud. Previous owner says never a ticket because he was always courteous to others. I've never had pipes this loud and ordered these baffles. Supposed to knock off 11 db. I'm only on my second day and started to get cut off.. blurped my throttle and the other vehicle that didn't see me instantly corrected. Do I rely on loud pipes or quiet them and mount a big dual car horn setup as I did on GZ bike???? Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Loud horns would be best. They will be pointing the right direction and are quicker to sound than a twist of the throttle. Horns are a temporary noise for your safety whereas loud pipes are always there to annoy the folks who aren't out to get you.
Noise fatigue is always a factor. It does affect you and may slow your reactions when most needed. Also try to make yourself more visible to distracted drivers. Recent studies have determined distracted drivers on phones or texting are more dangerous than drunk drivers. |
