Clanking noise when shut off the engine

Engine runs fine but when shutting down the engine (red switch off) I hear a clanking noise like something is unwinding or loose. Only lasts for a few seconds but sure doesnt sound normal. Just bought this GZ250 so I'm looking for some guidance on possible causes.

Is it definitely engine coming from the engine and not somewhere else, like chain slack or the sprocket?

I would put the bike on bike stands, crank it for a second, even rev it up a little in gear, and then shut it down and see if you can verify where the sound is coming from.

Suzuki does it again. Got another rider with their shut down noise of the starter. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks gents, it is coming from the LH front and sounds like ball bearing running around. It was a shock to hear this as it sounds like something coming apart. Your information sure makes me feel better!!
