Re: Bobber Project

Heck yeah! This is getting into "rat-bike" territory, and that's not a slander against the bike. I like it..

Re: Bobber Project

Looks nice!

I'm not a fan of the stock mirrors personally and seem to change them on the bikes I've owned in the past. But mirrors aren't really a Bobber thing anyway. I really love the Z-bars! I had those on my 82 GS450 and just loved it. Those look great on the GZ!

I suppose technically you should get a true solo seat, but, you know, I've never done that myself, so I'm not one to talk. Don't know what you'd do if you did try to go with a true solo seat (meaning: I don't know how that would look, especially with the battery location).

Re: Bobber Project

I'm trying to get away from the ratty look...lol and yeah I need new mirrors, when I get some extra $$$. I think the solo seat would look great, but have no idea how to install one and seems like a lot of work. I'm getting the bars and tank painted soon and will get rid of that annoying sissy bar...

Re: Bobber Project

I prefer some contrast in my bikes, though I tend to go black with damn near everything I've modified. Don't suppose you've fired up that thing and ridden it with open headers. That'd be deafening, even at only 250ccs of sound. I know because I had my pipe literally tear open and try to fall off right after the 2-1 junction. That was excruciating for just a mile on the freeway, and this is coming from a guy who puts overkill stereos in his cars.

Yeah, it's pretty loud. I would like to get a different exhaust, but right now one of the header bolts is stripped and I can't seem to take it out. Any idea's?
