Sunday afternoon tour
After church this afternoon I took my longest solo tour to date. I headed north from my house and then meandered around East Baton Rouge , EAst Feliciana, West Feliciana and Pointe Coupe Parishes. At the 80 mile point I came to a new landmark on the Mississippi River I have itching to see. It is the new Audubon Bridge that was just opened last year after the flood of 2011. I think it is an absolute jewel reaching into the sky.
My friend said he experienced vertigo the first time he crossed it on his bike due to the angle of the suspension cables. I took this rather poor video to try to demonstrate what it looks like as you cross. I held my phone against my upper chest to stabilize it as much as possible unfortunately I had no idea where it was pointing. http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff3 ... dcd7dd.mp4 After visiting the bridge I headed straight home and ended the ride with 111 miles on the trip odometer. Re: Sunday afternoon tour
I just Googled the bridge. Absolutely beautiful. It's big, long and a real work of art. Thanks for sharing this beautiful day.
