Front Shocks
The front shocks on my GZ seem really weak... 2007 3800 miles. Is that the nature of the beast or is there some adjustment?

Re: Front Shocks
One thing to check is the cables and brake hose running through their guides and such. I have tracked down sounds and just tweaked the holders or guides a bit. If it is the actual forks it may be some dirt or grunge of some sort trying to work it's way into the seal where the inner top portion slides into the outer lower fork leg.

Re: Front Shocks
Is changing the fluid in the forks something I would have a shop do, or, man up and do it myself (being totally green at motorcycle mechanics)? You want something wounded or killed - I'm an expert shot with 9mm, 40cal, 7.62 or .308 this I know how to do... working on a bike - not so much!!!

Re: Front Shocks
Under normal conditions the fluid doesn't need to be changed (there are no drains on the bottom of the forks) the fluid gets changed if & when the seals are replaced.

Re: Front Shocks
I just read something about the fork oil should be changed every year. Down here where winter lasts three weeks would 20w oil be good year round?
