admore LEDs to Whitney trunk

Hi. Been awhile. Finally figured out how to attache the small Whitney. Just turned the saddle bag supports upside down and used the supplied plate/ hardware that came with the trunk an walla!! Now. For safety reasons I want to add some sort of lights to the top of the trunk.

It doesn't have to be fancy.. any ideas? I found this sight http://admorelighting.com/ doe you see anything ( like the universal light bar) That could EASILY be hooked up? Not a genius here...

Mary

Looks good.
Those lights should work for you.

What's going to keep that from crashing down and those bolts from digging into your fender when you put any weight into it?

Re: admore LEDs to Whitney trunk

It's solid. There are two braces attached perpendicular to and on to the saddle bag supports. They came with the trunk mounting plate if you are at all familiar with the Whitney. I have been very happy with the set up.

I ordered from here http://www.customdynamics.com/knight_ri ... ht_bar.htm # LB03. Just need a little more visibility especially at the beginning of the riding season (MN) when people aren't looking for motorcycles yet.

Hi Mary, it has been a while. The LB03 should make a good extra brake light. I'm not sure about the Knight Rider sequence though. It may be illegal and really frowned upon by the LEO's.
Have you considered white or amber LED running lights for the front end ??

Far out. Thinking out of the box and getting a neat result. I like it.

WW!!! I thought of pm ing you ...How's it? I'm looking specifically for back end lighting and I got the "non sequential" bar for the reason you stated.

Re: admore LEDs to Whitney trunk

I have a video on Youtube showing how to install LED strip lights under the lense of the exact same Jc Whitney Trunk.
I can't link it right now because I cannot access Youtube through the work server.

"Marauder GZ 250 LED tail lights - YouTube"

Type those words into google and it will be the first video link that you see.
I believe there is a brief description of what I used and how to do it, IIRC.

EDIT:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=850&hilit=trunk+lights
Here is the original post I made about it. Lots of good lighting info in that thread. Read it all. The link for the video is at the bottom of the page.

Re: admore LEDs to Whitney trunk

COOL DUDS Jonathan!! May I ask where you got the led strips from and did they come with everything you needed to install in the whitney handle? Oh please say "yes".

And do you mean that all one has to do to increase brightness of the standard bulb for the break light ( nothing else... just go buy another bulb, take the old one out, put the new one in) is to replace it with " 2397 bulb" that you can get at any auto store? Again... please say "yes". And is the the exact bulb I need to buy?

Yes,except that after more research.Jonathan went with a 2357 same brightness as 2397 without using more power. It is a direct replacement bulb that you can get at any auto store.
