New Old Rider
Hi, Everybody. I'm a 71 year old rider, down-sizing to lighter, easier to handle bike. First began riding in 1953 with an Army Surplus 1942 Harley 45 that I paid $50 for. (Yeah, I know...wish I had held onto it, too) Have had mostly medium-sized bikes. (BMWs, Suzuki GS550L, 450 Honda, Kawasaki two-cycles, etc, etc) After not riding for about 5 years, I couldn't stand it any longer. Got a good deal on this 4,000 mile 2001 GTZ250. I've wanted one since I met a young fellow riding one. It's got a few issues, like surging idle, mostly from setting a long time I suspect, but it's mostly good.

Welcome to the family. You will enjoy the G.Z. You can try some SeaFoam or Berrymans b-12 in a tank of fuel.

Re: New Old Rider
Welcome Realist. I like your handle. You must also be an optomist and believe riding is good for the mind and body. Wear lots of safety gear cause us old guys don't heal as well as time goes by. You never know about those other guys on the road.

Re: New Old Rider
Hi! Welcome to the forum and back to riding! I know what you mean a little... if I go a week or so without riding it just starts to seem like I'm missing something.
