Black 2005 GZ

After much debating and many bills piling up I decided to put my bike up for sale to see if I get any hits on it. Its a 2005 with 1243 miles on it. Never been laid down and has kuryakyn grips, cat eye mirrors and the Suzuki sissybar/rack on it i bought new. Less than 200 miles or so since oil/filter change and is in excellent shape and looks great. Listed it on craigslist for $2300 OBO which i know I wont get $2300 but was figuring on coming down some depending on what someone offers. I'm in the western North Carolina area near Hickory...

While I thought 2300 was high, I think 1600 might be low unless the bike has problems. The low price might get you a quick sale.
No theres nothing wrong with the bike at all and if it was washed it would look it practically rolled off the showroom floor. I was going by what the dealer told me, the trade value would be around $800(could get more if trading on a new bike) but the resale value was around $1800 and they had a new GZ sitting in back for $2500. He said selling it straight out id prolly get $1200 to $1500 for it. And if listing it for $1600 helps me sell it thats good I've got about $900 in medical bills sitting here thats gotta be paid anyways and will have more cause there sending me to Duke next month. Dreading that drive.

Never even thought of taking it off and selling it but thats an idea... I'd need to find the original bolts and remove it but hopefully it would be easier than it was to install it last year LOL it was new when I installed it last year and is the Suzuki brand sissy bar/rack. Make me an offer?

Hey there,

Im in Greensboro, NC myself and just joined the site a couple days ago. Would be interested in looking at your gz250 if you still end up having it in a couple weeks to a month. I would now..but unfortunately I just moved back here from Vancouver, WA and the move really slashed my funds for now. If I come up with anything close Ill let you know...but Ill keep in touch from time to time to see if you still have it. Looks really nice. Hate that you are having to go to Duke..but at the same time at least your going to one of the top hospitals in the nation for whatever it is they are testing or treating you for. Im sure thats no real consolation though. Well take care for now..and nice to see some other tar heels.

Yep I still have it, got some emails on it but nothing panned out and 1 person tried to trade me a 50cc scooter for it! Its getting chilly around here and not many looking for a bike this late in the season so I'll probably still have it then but have the sissybar on ebay dont know if itll go or not it ends tomorrow so we'll see. Anytime your out this way and would like to see it just let me know and I'll be glad to show it to you.

Re: Black 2005 GZ

Bike still isnt sold and been thinking bout listing it on craigslist and ebay cheap or see what i could get for it at one of those "Buy sell trade" places which wouldnt be much ...but thought id bring this old thread back to life and see if theres any takers out there or know of someone interested ... just selling it due to health reasons after what i found out a couple weeks ago at a specialist i prolly wont be riding at all anymore in my lifetime and just dont want to let her set and go to waste... so the pics are still up but it DOES NOT have the sissy bar/rack anymore it was pulled off and sold last year... I looked up the retail and trade value up on KBB and the retail is $1690 and trade in value is $1100 .... so if anyone on here is interested in it ill let it go for $1300 even. Nothing at all wrong with the bike it has less than 1300 miles on it. has the karakyn grips and cat eye mirrors on it . only thing i can think of it there may be a couple small scratches on the rear chrome strut covers where the sissybar was pulled off but otherwise after being washed it would look like it came off the showroom floor... has valid NC safety inspection and i have a clear NC title for it in my name... its been hectic the past few months but it ran perfect when it was parked but may need some carb cleaner ran thru it since its been sitting 3 or 4 months but ill take care of that myself .... bike is still tagged and insured as well and always has been since i bought it ...

also have a used carb i bought from music man a year or so ago to tinker with im going to put that up for sale as well... think it came off a 2003 or 2005 gz if im not mistaken and ran fine when he took it off. selling that for $65 shipped. (shipping is going up this month or it would have been $60) anyone on here interested in making a deal on either one the bike or carb at all this time around? i can provide the VIN if someone is seriously interested they can to the carfax check or whatever it is for bikes ...
