I dont ride enough
For some reason i dont like riding alone. But its hard to get to ride with other people most of the time. If i keep this up i'll never get the practice in that i need.

Re: I dont ride enough
Try to do short commutes, at least to stay in practice. Find some new ways to get to the places you normally visit, but never take that direction in a car because isn't doesn't make sense to go that way. In a car you just want to get there. With a bike you want to explore.

Re: I dont ride enough
Are there any roads left around there that are single lane winding roads like in the country, or do you live in an area of all 2 lane traffic-congested streets? That's part of the problem for a new rider, so intent on staying alive and away from all the cars, you can't enjoy the ride as much. Maybe get out to Nassau county and find a place to go, or find a park you can ride in for a while to get more seat time and solitude and practice.

I couldn't imagine trying to learn to ride while living IN the city. Hope you find a place to ride!

Re: I dont ride enough
hopefully your not that person that just buys a bike then lets it rot in the garage. i hate that shit. personally i would just get rid of the bike. not being into the riding and owning a bike just seems silly. what are you afraid of not having someone else there just in case? you have done the msf course right?

Re: I dont ride enough
When I was brand new I didn't venture out alone. But after awhile I began to enjoy the solitude of the wind and the scenery. 1,000 miles in 2 months I have fallen in love with riding. The riding season is so short make a point of riding your bike on all errands & visits. Don't let the lack of company deprive you of the joy of riding. I've my lots of folks riding alone who are just fascinated by those who ride. Get out & ride & you may meet other riders. Oh yeah go to bike nights great way to meet other riders.
