Stay off the lines

Especially if they're wet or damp. Pay attention, use the lane, not the middle of the road.

Re: Stay off the lines

Absolutely stay of the painted surfaces. I got a bit of an awakening when coming to a stop on wet pavement. Hit a crosswalk zone with a bit of front break and the wheel stopped until it passed over the line and found pavement again. Wet paint is as good as ice when you are on 2 wheels.

Re: Stay off the lines

I saw a similar thing happen on the Tour de France a few years back. It was a damp day and a group of riders were coming around a curve with a painted crosswalk. About 20 bikes went down.
