newbie question-helmet lock

I have heard that there is a helmet lock under the seat of the gz, but cannot find pictures of it online. Anyone use this? Is it a good way to lock the helmet, or are there better ways out there? thanks

It is just a tab on the frame under the seat that the ring of the strap will slide over.I never found it much good,as the helmet lay right on the side cover. As I always wore a 1/2 helmet, I just put it in the saddle bag or over the back rest.

I'll hang my helmet from the tabs unless it looks like rain. I also have a gun lock that I can loop through the helmet (full face) and the sissy bar.

I hang my helmet on my throttle grip. Easy to steal and no one has done it yet.

A cable type bicycle lock will allow you to lock your helmet to the bike. Use the "D" rings or eye opening of a full face helmet. In fact 2 cable locks end to end will allow you to run cables through jacket sleeves and pants when the need arises. Sure beats packing stuff around on a hot day of playing tourist.

The advantage in South Carolina is an adult is not required to wear a helmet so if someone did steal a helmet you can still get the bike home. As for a jacket, I just stuff it in one of the saddle bags. If I come out and someone is going through my bags they've got a problem.

That is the time you want a helmet in your hand to administer a smack to the head.
