Two Questions: Foot Pegs / Extra Helmet

Hello all! you all have been such great help to me being a newbie. I was wondering if it was possible / has anyone swapped out the small foot pegs on the GZ for somthing a little bigger?

Also I know there are some, for lack a of a better word, prongs under the seat to store your helmet when not riding, but what if you need / want to carry an extra helmet with you? It doesn't seem to me that it would be a good idea to hang one under the seat while driving.

You can get a net at most dealers that will allow you to hold the helmet on the rear seat. Simple and effective.

There are a lot of aftermarket pegs that will fit with little or no modification,I had "Harley" style pegs & stirups on mine.I had to drill out holes slightly. There are even some floor boards that will fit the G.Z.

Walmart has those cargo nets too. I've got a back pack strapped to my sissy bar to carry stuff for now. I saw a back pack type sissy bar bag I'm going to get. It has a pocket to slip over the back rest with buckles on the front to tighten it up plus you can use it as a back with too if wanted and can use a hydration pack in it somehow.

From my previous post regarding larger footpegs.

They provide a lot of rubber under foot and are virtually vibration free. Plus they are a heck of a lot bigger than standard footpegs & provide excellent foot support, although not quite as good as floorboards
I also use their ISO grips without the bar end weights. Both are very comfy and I have no vibration issues. I used the footpeg mounts from the Marauder 800 and had to slightly enlarge the frame holes for the larger mounting bolts. No biggie.

i stick my helmet on the sissy bar and stick a bicycle lock through it - the helmet would probably stay on no problem without the bike lock it fits so snugly - do you have a sissy bar on your gz?

Search my posts. I've got driver and passenger floorboards on mine. They take a little while to install (the first time), but they're freaking awesome.

Was the bag you saw at wal-mart too, cause if it was I already have one of those, it is the best bargain out there if you already have a sissy bar. It holds a ton, and it is fairly solid for a 30 bag. and it doubles as a backpack so you can take it with you when you leave your bike, and if you want to go camping or something you can use it for that too :2tup: .

Yup thats the one at Walmart right under the cargo nets and next to the leather fork bags. Ive looked at them every time I go to Walmart thinking about getting one. After your recommendation I think I'll go and pick one up this weekend.
