GZ250 competition

how does GZ250 compare to other 250cc cruisers (Honda Rebel and Yamaha VStar)? Thanks!

The G.Z. feels and looks bigger than the Honda or yamaha.The G.Z. is also easier and cheaper to maintain.

I trader my GZ(15,000 miles) for a Virago 250 3 months ago.

The GZ is more comfortable, has more storage, and looks better.
The GZ has a larger tank.(200 miles till reserve)
The GZ has a better stock chain.

The Virago will outrun, out pull, and get better fuel mileage.

The Virago will gain speed up a hill while the GZ will have to be down shifted.
The Virago will cruise at 70 mph with enough power to pull out and pass.

I did a 200 mile ride with a Ninja 250, not a lot of difference on two lane riding.
Top end was 88 for me and 110 for the Ninja. I was sitting behind my windshield and Kirk was down on the tank of the Ninja.
While I owned the GZ I rode over 4,000 miles with my buddy on a Virago.

Plus and minus to both.
Both good bikes.

thanks, i like the 'outrun and out pull' part - I still remember how frustrating it was to ride GZ250 uphill or into the wind.

what about maintanance though - does it have two carburators that need to be synced? is adjusting valves as easy as on GZ250?

only because it has fewer cylinders and valves or for other reasons?

Just "Goggle" Vigaro 250 forum.Their are a couple of choices.

I rode in some very gusty winds a couple of weeks ago.
I told my riding buddy's that the wind had ZERO affect on the bike, but was blowing my upper body pretty strong.
The GZ does ok in the wind also.

I led this group 500cc Tmax. 650 Suzuki Gladius, and a 1100 Kawaski, across the Foothills Parkway, when we stoppped the Tmax owner called BS on it being a 250. He said it was a 500 with no brake light.

You can do every 25 and 35 mile curve at 60, and not hit the pegs but a couple of times...
