Rear Shock Replacement ...
I'm looking for replacement shocks that are capable of holding two people and not bottoming out. Lots of shock out there but nothing that is specific to the GZ. Anyone ever replace them with something that actually fits?

Re: Rear Shock Replacement ...
You might want to compare specs for a S-40 Suzuki. If they fit they might be enough to carry the load. If they do spec out for fit then check out aftermarket prices as they have got to be better than Factory prices.

Re: Rear Shock Replacement ...
Just to make sure, you have adjusted the resistence on the stock shocks, right?
When I first took my wife out on the stock setting of 3, it was a little cushy. Racheting it up to 4 was adequate and 5 was nice. No bottoming out with either one. I then started using the 4th setting all the time and never messed with it again. |

I have just recently installed a set of YSS shocks and it rides much better (better than better). This was an easy install and a good investment. Next up ... maybe the forks. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Re: Rear Shock Replacement ...
Can you give us the particulars? Website, model numbers, etc.??
The stock rear shocks suck and I've been looking for a decent replacement. Thanks.

Re: Rear Shock Replacement ...
You could follow Dupo's lead and fab up some staight bars. Then you would never have to worry about bottoming out.

Re: Rear Shock Replacement ...
My buddy turned his sportster into a hardtail. We swapped for a bit yesterday and I about fused a couple vertebrae. I'll never understand why someone would want to do that.
(Sorry to sidetrack. So where were those replacement shocks from?)
