dri-slide/bike aid

Anyone ever try Dri-Slide (also called Bike-Aid) to lube your cables? It comes with a needle applicator that sure looks easier to use than the lube tool or the old fashioned plastic bag method.

No but it sounds like a good idea. Where is it available ??

Probably a combination of, and improvement on, the easiest method of all: The GRAVITY method!!

The gravity method works quite good if you start using it early in the bikes life and repeat at regular intervals.....like at least once a year.

All those fancy, high priced methods are overkill, IMHO, unless the cables have been severly neglected over a LONG period of time. :cool:

By the "gravity method" you mean the old plastic bag trick, or are you referring to something else?

You find the highest end of the cable.....normally the end at the bars. You put a few drops of lube (a thin liquid works best).....teflon (PTFE) or silicone ......into the space between the jacket and the inner cable and let gravity and the normal operation of the cable do the rest. Might want to do it several times over 5 minutes or so. Seems like the device you mentioned might be good to do that with, since spray cans are hard to manage just a few drops from.
