K&N Cross reference

This is the GS500 K&N drop in filter. Anyone notice a resemblance?

I'm taking the carbs off tomorrow. I'll also be checking the flange diameter so we can know what size pod filter to shop for.

The Suzki Part # for the replacement parts are:

13780-01D00 - GS500
13780-13F00 - GZ250

How big of a difference could there be?

The size of the K&N box for the GS500 filter has exactly the same dimensions as a box that our filter would fit into.

Be aware that one thing the air box does is help keep water out of the carb when it rains. If you switch to a pod filter the bike may not be ridable in the rain.

I ran dual pods on my Ninja a few years ago with no side-effects in the rain. Since the GZ has a much smaller engine and the filter area is pretty exposed, I might tend to agree with you.

I'll let you know after I finish jetting the bike.

I'll also be posting a write-up on removing the air box and installing pods with jetting after all is said and done.
I also post pictures.
