Final thoughts on the GZ
I've had the GZ since last May; so about a year. Over this time, I've put about 13k miles on the old gal. This includes a trip to Washington DC, and a trip to Ft Lauderdale, FL.
I've saved 2400 in insurance costs since selling my automobile (hooray for being a <25 male) and saved hundreds on gas, but have spent perhaps 500 on oil, tires, accessories, etc. So all in all the GZ has been very economical! I've also had loads of fun! But, in the end, the GZ is too underpowered for my needs. The ergonomics are perfect, and the bike is light enough to toss around in the twisties, but the GZ falls just short of "fast enough for everything". I've gotten a lot of info from this site, and it has been very helpful for many things. So allow me to bear witness to next two points! 1. The GZ runs better with a slightly richer mixture and the exhaust "punched" (not drilled), and the sound is better! Not louder, just deeper. 2. The GZ has consistently run better with Regular-grade gasoline. Take it easy guys! Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Re: Final thoughts on the GZ
At least he is perusing the site and (perhaps) using the search function. The level of discourse on here had started to dwindle and, even though some of these have been beaten to death, I guess I welcome any fresh activity.

Doesn't hurt to read and comment. It might even bring out new info from some one else along the way. This time of year we need all the help we can get.

Some of these zombie (back from the dead) threads bring up some "oh yeah" moments as well. Let's just leave the real contentious ones be though.
