How about something like this.
http://www.milebymile.com/ I have seen other sites in the past that identify gas stations and restaurants at the exits but I don't remember where. Cheers! |

OK, I found the one for I-95 (which I would not ride on a GZ250) but this is what I have been looking for. Now if there was just some of these for the smaller roads.

Georgia Info is a University of Georgia site that contains not just historical marker locations but also contains maps, links to info on other states and lots of other info.

Why I like Historical Markers
Many of theses are off the beaten path on interesting roads to ride. I like history so why not ride some place that has some historical significance.

Many group rides are either to meet with other riders to talk motorcycles or to meet at a place and have lunch. This is fine and I enjoy the comraderie. However, my wife and I like to spend our own time together riding too and have a purpose/reason/destination for the ride in addition to the enjoyment of being out on the motorcycles.
Visiting places of historical significance would be a good idea. I'm going to have to look into destination of this kind in our general area that would be a nice one or two day ride. Thanks for the idea. Cheers! |
