It kills me when the sign says "road work ahead" and its been nothing but orange barrels for 6 miles for the last damn 5 years. No workers, no equipment, just those damn barrels.

You just lack an appreciation for how hard those orange barrels are actually working out there, day in, day out, rain, shine, hot, cold, they have amazing endurance! Let's see anyone else stay out there 24/7 for 5 years without complaining like those barrels!

Re: This Kinda Says It All
Ever since the 2010 Olympics were announced the road to Whistler from Vancouver has been a construction zone. It should be all finished by late summer from what I hear unofficially. Mostly finished now and what a difference compared to the old road surface and 1 lane in each direction. We still have about 3,000,000 orange cone, barrels and added obstacles to drive through but what a drive. Even a far better ride though. Posted speed is 50 MPH in finished sections. I have enjoyed this at 70/75 in nice long sweeping curves on the Vstrom. The really fast sport bike crowd will double my maximum speed in a heartbeat.
I can recall the frustration but the wait is worth it. Hang in there if the cones are up and blocking traffic flow. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Re: This Kinda Says It All
I've determined all of the roads in florida are just "cone storage areas". The government had too many cones and barrels made, and they don't feel like building a warehouse big enough to store them in, so they just leave them all over our state to piss people off. I-4 has been "under construction" my entire life with no visible results!

Re: This Kinda Says It All
Forget mutual funds, we should have been investing in the company that makes all those orange cones!

Re: This Kinda Says It All
The turnpike is still under construction from the Clermont exit about halfway through Orlando, and then again from Orlando south a few miles.
I hate driving here!
