Moedad, the NightHawks were and still are a great looking bike. I may be mistaken but I seem to remember they had hydraulic valve lifters that were nearly 100% trouble free. As for a beginner bike, well, maybe a more mature full size adult would be okay. As for a really big beginner bike we a older fellow in riding class with us 2 years ago. Big man with a fair bit of strength so they gave him a honda 450 twin and he settled in very nicely. His own beginner bike that was delivered was a really big Victory.

I'd still like to have a flat black Wee-Strom someday.

I'd still like to have a flat black Wee-Strom someday.
They are a sweet ride. Smooth and lots room for toys to be attached. The aftermarket has a great supply of "Strom Only" items to really personalize for comfort and utility. Almost 4 years now and I am still messing with add-ons and what-ifs. Great hobby and keeps me out of trouble. I won't mention all the $ spent of frilly stuff.
