The little bell is for road gremlins. A Stebel air horn will help move some of the critters but a lower speed and keeping a close watch will be the best solution. You should scan left and right at all times when you are riding.

Re: Hit my first 'animal' a few days ago.

I took out a deer a little over a year ago on my way to work. Rode the bike fom the impact zone to the hospital about 9 miles with a broken left ankle. Nurse laughed as I was hopping across the parking lot to get to the er door. Never dropped the bike, thanking the man upstairs for that one. People at work keep asking me why I still ride since the accident, all I can tell them is " you've neve ridin before have you."

Everyone I talk to who has rode a bike before has dropped it or hit something. It's just a part of riding. All you an do is wear the proper equipment, say a little prayer and enjoy the ride.

Course they also call me rabbit now but I should expect that from the smartasses work with.
