ATGATT- all the gear all the time. Helmet, armored jacket, pants, gloves, etc.
To keep from getting sliced up or killed - you should be wearing a helmet and protective gear - especially if someone new starts to fly one of those things. Humor.

I just found this, to explain how those things work -

honestly it would be a really good idea to wear protective gear, or be able to run really, really fast. usually you don't want to get the helicopter too close to you when flying, big fields are great so you dont halve to be any where near it...

thanks for sharing that video, very tool to see where all the controls are on a real one..

Not really my cup of tea, but it looks like you have progressed significantly - this video is not much different than the one you posted of the expert. I'd be crapping my pants if that thing costs as much as I think it does.

Has anyone ever clipped themselves? Is it dangerous?

Re: just wanted to say hello, and RC helicopter thread ....

People have been seriously injured and even killed by being struck by rotor blades when they come off in a crash or some other component failure.
I never fly in public parks anymore since stray dogs and 5-year-olds tend to come out of the woodwork and chase the heli around, completely oblivious to the risk. I fly my heli indoors at work (large warehouse space) or at my club field, where everyone knows the risks and stays clear.

Pretty neat Danny. Even the crash was well done. Just curious, how much does it cost to get a T Rex and fly it ?
