You got even this time......cause I just got back from a tag run.

Got a question and a suggestion though.

While looking back to see if we had a "train station" before, it occurred to me that (since the players can't help but run their mouths [like this post !!], it would be useful to have a thread comprised of ONLY the tag pictures; maybe accesable only by the mods. ???

I did find an old tag that was a train station (multi-purpose, actually) but it looked lots different and the "found" tag was a bus station. Like I said, just can't shut up !! :roll:
Is this OK....since it is a different kind of station ??
Just asking; I got no problem with it..........except that I got a new phone just for this and he beat me out !!!! :biggrin:

8. Before a tag can be reused as a subject, there must be at least three different changes in tag. ie. You can't use a flag, then go get another flag.

That other train station was way more than 3 tags back. :2tup:

OK, question for Bill in GA. Does the train station have to be active? We have one here in Merrimack that was built as a train station in 1900 or so, but hasn't been used as a train station since roughly the 1960's when the passenger railroads basically died. It's a machine shop right now. But, one look at it and you know it's a circa 1900 small town train station, and it's right next to the tracks, and I verified its history with the current owner. I already have the photo and a new tag, so I await your decision.

BTW there is essentially no active passenger rail service in NH. The Downeaster makes a couple of stops about 50 miles from here on its way from Mass to Maine, and that's about it. I don't think there are stations per se. They keep trying to revive commuter rail service along the Merrimack River corridor, but it would have to be heavily subsidized, as is the Downeaster, and the idea just doesn't seem to be able to get any traction in this state. According to the owner of the building I photographed today, they have even approached him with the idea of reviving his building as an active station!

Although I can't speak for Bill, I think the point of this game is for us to get out and ride and take some interesting pictures of things in our part of the world, so in my opinion, your old train station would be fine, maybe even preferable since it is probably more interesting looking than a modern station.

Although still referred to as the Kennesaw depot, it is no longer active in that usage. Sadly, that is the case for all the old small town depots around here.

As far as I'm concerned, once a depot, always a depot. So dhgeyer - tag on! :2tup:
