Find a dealer, indy shop or another biker. You actually have to put a little pressure on the key to snap the latch open. Once open, a drop or two of oil on the latch mechanism should solve the problem for the future.

Another possibility is that the latch is loose instead of too tight. If that is the case, turn the key and pull up gently on the BACK of the front seat.
