This is what it looked like after I straightened it out a little bit (Why I even messed with old plug I don't know :??: )

If i had to make a guess I would say a piece broke off one of the valves & was laying on top of the piston & smacked the plug. A few other members had this happen.

You were right!!! :-D now I just need a piston and a head. Should I get ALL the valves?? They all got nicked when that piece went flying around.

The structure and integrity of the valves have been compromised. Likely they will eventually fail and you get to start over again. Do it right and don't gamble with damaged parts.
