O my goodness! We have not been up there in a couple of years but Waynesville was our favorite destination for almost a decade straight. It is 750 miles from my house. Our actual destination was "The Swag" which is not heaven but it has the same zip code. It is a country inn on a 5000 ft elevation site backing up against the (GSMNP). If you have not been before go over to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. I haven't been on that road on a bike but it seems custom made for cycles. I would love to live up there but there doesn't seem to be much of a middle class.

only about 40 miles from chimney rock and we ride our bikes there a lot. my little gz handles the curves like a charm. ride the parkway but did not know this campground was there. bless, i need to check it out. thanks so much for sharing . love your pics.
