Safermoto seems to be a dealer. It looks like they run $285-$585 depending on brand and etc. I did see one on ebay from malaysia for $60, but really... I mean... really.
Not sure I could afford one right now, but it's always hard trying to figure out how to value your own life in dollars and cents. I mean, why would you have half a million dollars in life insurance, but you wouldn't buy a $285 vest that could save your life? Yeah I agree with the get what you pay theory. The cheaper ones are probably a single use only item. Not repackable and cheaper materials so will it really hold together when needed most ?
