Re: Looking For The Right Ride

I'm your weight but shorter. I'm going to be honest with you. I loved my GZ250 but felt a bit cramped. It was a great learning bike but my real riding is more like yours...local and 45 - 55 mph. I purchased a Yammy V-Star 650 Classic and it fits me like a glove. It's a great around town cruiser that will also perform well on the interstate at 70+ mph. My knees appreciated the bigger ride. Go to your local Yammy dealer and see if they still have an 09/10 in stock (they're discontinued for 2011 other than the custom) and sit one. Maybe they have a used one you could give a road test. Good luck in whatever you choose and welcome aboard.

Re: Looking For The Right Ride

You might also take look at the Suzuki S-40. A bit bigger than the GZ and only 60 lbs heavier with a 650 single cylinder engine. A proven bike with a lot of followers.
