Re: i have all my lights working now except....

I knew about the missing brake lever from another post and it failed to click when reading this one. I think we are all learning more than we expected. Learning is good..............even for this old guy.

Sounds as though it's on all the time. If this is so, then how does the brake lever switch work? If it's just a little micro switch that is normally open, but goes closed when the lever is squeezed (& moves away from the micro switch) then this would explain it. I can't see how pressing the foot pedal is anything to do with the prooblem, or he'd have realised that it was the brake light, not the rear light, earlier.

If the light is staying on all the time it is mostly caused by the foot brake out of adjustment causing switch to stay on,therefore light stays on.Been there, done that.

Re: i have all my lights working now except....

Just checked the parts manual, & it certainly LOOKS like a micro switch on the brake lever, so if adjusting the switch on the pedal doesn't work, then fitting a brake lever MIGHT solve the problem.

Just reread and checked.Alantf, you are correct brake light stays on with leaver missing.Rear switch is fine if brake light goes out when he pushes micro switch.

No, I was asking if his brake light worked with the foot pedal. He had stated that it did'nt work with either.

Thats before he discovered the brake light was staying on due to missing leaver. What he thought was "park" light, was axually "brake" light staying on.
