I am currently experimenting with bearing grease applied with a small paint brush.

Have you considered using a little heat to warm the grease or the chain when applying? |

Chain Maintenance
Clean your chain w/ lots of WD-40 and a small brush, let it dry. Then lubricate with CLEAN motor oil. Spin the rear tire & thoroughly lubricate each link. No need for anything fancy shmancy. The secret to long chain life is cleaning & removing all the grit before relubricating. It's a nasty pain in the ass that I try to do (or have done) at every 3000 mile service. The manual saying to do it every 400 or 600 miles is nuts!

got my kerosene, got my chain wax, think i'm ready to clean and lube but i want to make sure of something....after i clean with the kerosene, it's okay to ride around to warm up the chain before applying the chain wax? just want to make sure to don't mess up anything, yeah, i'm new to all of this. thanks for your patience, this is a great, informative site.

Let us know how you like the "wax" after you clean it next time. Some love it and others wouldn't touch it......like me.
