Re: GZ250 top speed, more info

Mine would run 60 65 all day.I also had the 16t front sprocket that lowers top end.I rode mine as much as 400 miles a day,and it never missed a beat. But the Canadian models do run a little richer, and I had carb, intake,& exhaust mods.I owned my G.Z almost 4 years, and it had 46000 kms when I sold it.By the way,Welcome

Re: GZ250 top speed, more info

I owned a 2006 gz250. I put 11,000 miles on it in 6 months. My top speed was 79mph (gps). On the interstate, commuting to work, riding at 70mph, I would get 70-72mpg average. When I went to small bike meets in the Georgia mountains, and cruising with the rebel bikes at 45-50mph, I would get over 80mpg. Once got over 90mpg (we topped out at a gas station, rode 90+ miles, stopped at another gas station, topped the tank with 0.99 gallons, cool). The little bike got better mpg at higher elevations. When I rode it to Florida from Indiana (yes rode, 2500 mile bike trip on the baby), in Florida along the coast, I only average 68-70mpg.

Water Warrior, 3.5 years later, 36,000+ miles later. It is great. Still running fine, ordering my 4th set of tires for the bike now.
I think I have to do my first clutch adjustment sometime in the near future. In the 36,000+ miles, the valves have only had to be adjusted once (checked on regular maintence). Constantly gets 50-55mpg on fuel usage.
I also have a 2009 BMW G650GS (had it 2 years, 16,000 miles) and a 2009 KLX 250 sf (bought it new a couple of months ago, only have about 300 miles on it so far).

Oh my you do get around. Good to hear the C-50 is turning out to be so trouble free. I think the 50 series is a great sized bike with a reasonable price of ownership.
