i desperatly need help my battery on my 1999 Suzuki gz250 isnt charging up anymore and i have no clue what it could be, i have checked the stator and rectifier regulator, the test on the stator showed not grounded and pin to pin showed 00.9 on all three pins and the rectifier showed 0 0 0 , 395,413,406, 0 0 0, 415,389,415, so everything serms to check out i also checked the stator while running it showed 50 to 60 while om choke at about 2,000 rpm, also checked fuses, and the battery is only 2 months old it worked great for awhile then all of a sudden started not charging, not sure about the previous battery when i bought the bike it was dead and looked old, im not sure what else to check, any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you load teasted the battery.....Just because it only a few months old means nothing.......
new ones can go bad.Battery should read 12.6 with bike not started.

No matter what the salesman says, these batteries should ALWAYS be charged before fitting them.

Battery testing progress so far

I havent load tested yet, because i dont have a charger yet, and the battery isnt powerfull enough to start the bike anymore, it does give a good couple of cranks everyday before giving up but it takes more than that to start for the first time of the day, the battery is reading 11.6 right now not started, i will test while running today and possibly take to advance for them to test, i did mess up and not charge when i got the battery, i will let you all know the results this evening, starting to think the regulator messed up in the rectifier diodes tested good but someone told me they should be 5 or over and mine is 3 almost 4, thanks to everyone that took the time to respond and try to help

Did you check all 3 phases of the stator while running. Check 1 and 2, 2 and 3, and 3 and 1. All phases should be producing AC current while running.

Yeah i checked the all the phases while running and it was putting out roughly about 60 volt ac and i did it in that order i also checked the battery today while running and not running it read 11.70 with the engine off and read about 12.70 idling and went up to 13.50 reving up couldnt go past 13.60 at most no matter how much gas i gave do you think the rectifier regulator is good because some places on the web say the multimeter reading should be 5 something or over, i just dont want to do this again in 2 months because the new battery im pretty sure read 14 when new but my charging part is only putting out 13.60 at most the battery is under warranty but would like to get to the root of the problem so i dont have to do this again thank you for your help, i really appreciate it

If you all think all of those readings are ok, it might just be the battery as blaine said, its just concerning because the battery was great for the first month and a half then it started dying slowly like thete was no charging at all now it cranks 2 times and is done, i guess it is charging them 2 cranks everytime lol hope hear back from you all to see if those readings are good if so then the battery is the culprit and i can get it replaced i just gave to send a picture of a volt reading of the 11.60 i will wait to do anything till i hear from you all thanks

Take the battery to an auto store and see if they can load test it for you

The battery may be the culprit. The charging system may be fine but if the battery is not retaining a charge it is toast. Years ago I had a sudden full charge on the amp gauge in a cage which was a first for me. The alternator was doing it's job but the battery would not hold a charge.
