So I started at the corner store and BANG
I went to start the motor and one revolution and I got a loud metallic bang/thud
sound from inside the motor case. For a moment I thought @$&@#! A valve and the piston have just french kissed... But when I looked down the tach is reading 1450 rpm... The motor is idling... I continued a mile down the road to get to the closest relatives house and went to check things out. I can't find anything wrong. So I start it back up and headed home. Made it fine. No knocking or pinging sounds. I am REAL worried even though it got me home. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

And your right. Any oil has more life than that. But... I'm in a bad place and my only wheels are this bike and a modded mountain bike. It's to hot to commute 45 miles a day on a mountain bike so yeah... So I'm babying the hell outta this thing till I get back on my feet. Finally got it purring like a kitten again but still looking for a spare motor just in case.... And wait till you see the post coming up |

Zowie.......I doubt you would need to change the filter everytime. Even a new filter every 3000 miles would be good with all that fresh oil. That is my opinion and I'm sticking with it, but it is your money and your peace of mind. Carry on and ride safe. |
