choke knob

the pin that attaches to the choke knob broke out leaving the knob still in the left hand assembly but unattached. I can use a screwdriver to pull the pin to pull the choke. My question is do I buy a left hand assembly, is it easy to install, or can i replace the choke knob and cord?
