First post of the year for me and the forum. Hoping everyone had a wonderful New Year Celebration.

First minor rant of the year: Why does CL have so many electric scooters up for sale. Who buys these things and then rides on the sidewalks so they can scare the crap out of me by whizzing by my elbow. We have bike lanes for a reason...........try riding there. Nuff said.

2nd post. 2nd rant.. Needy users of these machines I have absolutely no problem with, provided that they are utilised in accordance with local regulations and with consideration for others. Unfortunately, there is a growing number of users that, to be quite honest, are bone idle, do not really need them, and use them in an arrogant and dangerous manner in the public domain.

I am not generally an advocate of ad hoc legislation but in this case I feel that it would not go amiss.

Happy New Year. We don't have sidewalks out here in the country so it's not a problem.
