Give the float bowl a couple taps with a screw driver handle to hopefully dislodge anything that might be interferring with the float. Also pinch off the fuel line and run the engine till it runs out of gas. This will cause the float to drop to it's lowest level. You could dislodge something in there. Worth a try and nothing to loose but a few minutes time.
Oh yeah, set out a fan to cool the engine while runnning it.
