Need a new tire

Hey there fellow riders. Long time no see. I think the last time I was here the "ground was swiped from underneath me" and I had to lay my girl down. Bumps, bruises, scratches, and dings later I'm still riding tough.

Alright, I'm here because about 2 days ago, I unfortunately got a nail in my rear tire and it's time to get a new one. The thread was getting a bit low and I kind of saw this day coming, the nail just slid it up to the front of the line if I want to keep riding.

I've taken the back wheel off and have the rim all separated and ready to take to a shop, but I thought I would ask you wonderful gurus on spots to get decent priced tires for my GZ. I'm in Seattle and I feel like there isn't that much variety of places to score some tires. I've checked online and found the prices to be way better but after thinking about shipping and mounting and balancing the price might just even out just taking it in somewhere.

Also, while I have this all taken apart, any spots I should be looking at to make sure I'm all good? I've checked the shop manual, but it doesn't hurt to ask those who are on the bike out there also.

Alright, look forward to any advice you got. You guys have been good to me so far, I'm just trying to gather the experience, knowledge, and know-how to pass on to the next newbie out there.

Check out the Jake Wilson site. They sell a lot of tires at good prices and are located in your home state.

Thanks water, I also have been sifting through the threads here and there are some good references about tube/tubeless, size recomendations, alternate options. I'm flirting with the idea of trying to do it myself.

It's really not worth the effort to do it yourself. Just trust me.

Heh heh, a lot of people try changing their tires 2 times. The first time and the last time. It can be very frustrating and time consuming with poor results. Unless you have all the needed tools and some experience you may want to do yourself a favor and pay some one with experience.

Alright, alright, alright. I'm not going change it out myself. Figured I would just put that effort towards fixing other stuff on the bike. Put another post up and some pics, if any of you fellas have some insight, I'm all ears. (A little leaky in Troubleshooting).

I got a nice rear off amazon for $60 and did it myself in about an hour. Balance was still good, no vibrations. Done deal.

Englehart, I'm trying to make up my mind to do it or not. You are certainly appealing to my "I can do this all on my own" side.
That looks like a good deal either way.
