Re: New from Oregon
I have had a chain with 30000 kms on it and it was still in good shape. But that was cleaning & lubing every 1000 kms.I don't understand a Kevlar belt not lasting a life time on a smaller machine, when they lasts so long on larger machines with more horsepower. :??: O_o

Re: New from Oregon
Could be the scooter needs a different design of belt. Big bikes with a regular transmission need a toothed belt whereas the scooter may need a V-belt for it's variable drive ratios. I would be unsure of a scooter that needed a belt that often though. Maybe some one is trying to make some extra money with reliabilty fears relating to belts.

I can assure you that nobody over here changes Aprilia belts at 7000.

Re: New from Oregon
If I weren't using an IPod, I'd list a slew of posts from the Aprilia Forum for you. I guess those guys and gals don't have a clue of what they're talking about. Thanks for the encouragement, sheesh.

I don't know why that makes us feel better when we do that, because you know the person who set that up never comes back an reads it, but it does make you feel somewhat better doesn't it.

Re: New from Oregon
That is a lot of $ for a U.S. gal. Makes you wonder how anyone but the wealthy can afford a cage in that economic environment.
