Re: gz250 shopping

A Battery Tender is highly recommended. It is a smart charger and won't overcharge a battery when left on for long periods. I have used mine for the initial first full charge on a new battery and it worked well.
Batteries themselves are a crap shot in some cases. I think the one in the Vstrom is an Energizer. Just make sure you get an AGM(absorbed glass matt)battery. They are superior to the old lead plate design.

Re: gz250 shopping

Here's a pic of the original on mine, RR.

And I bought a battery maintainer at Home Depot for $20. Its Black and Decker, its automatic, shuts off when battery is fully charged. ITs about the size of a brick, it has a 2amp setting and a 1amp setting. For $20, you can't go wrong.

And here is a place I found on the net,
they got this one for $35 http://www.batterystuff.com/batteries/m ... 0cc-gz250/
