Kirk's legacy may be more heroic or whatever.
But there's something to be said for current status.

And, uh... Jean-Luc wins, hands down.

[attachment=0:2a2qahx3]funny data.jpeg[/attachment:2a2qahx3]I agree Jean Luc wins, hands down. I am a big fan of STNG, enjoyed it more that the original series, and I saw those when they were first run on TV. Back in the original day !

I thought Data was so cool, loved all the episodes where he was the main character.

Did you know that in the original series (which I watched as a boy  ) apart from the cardboard rocks, the transporter beam was invented as the cheapest way (for the producer) to get someone from one place to another without having to build shuttles etc. on the cheapo movie sets.

Yeah, I knew that. I'm a trekie since childhood. I didn't like Deep Space 9, but Voyager seemed OK. I just didn't get to see but a few episodes of it.

About what you said, I used to have a CD "25th anniversay StarTrek" (that was back around 1992) and besides showing bloopers, it had a long interview with Gene Roddenberry. He talked all about the cheapo studio sets they had to work with. You would laugh really hard if you heard StarTrek dubbed into Japanese and italian, it was soo funny to hear.

I have lived in about 4 different places since 1990, so I lost that CD years ago.

FYI now - William Shatner is 80 years old, Kate Mulgrew is 56, and Patrick Stewart is 71. How time flies.
