Turn signal bulbs need to be the same as factory or they won't flash correctly.You can upgrade the flasher,but you need to isolate it from the side stand relay,than you can use a electronic flasher.

Yup, that would be the solution for a heavier wattage draw. The OEM flasher tends to overheat and not work properly. The electronic flasher will work with a greater load or no no load at all. Great for using LED's. Any standard auto electronic flasher will work. I think a 3 prong flasher would be required.
